In Loving
memory of
K-9 Gandor
(1993 - 2005)
January 17, 2005
To Friends and Family,
Unfortunately this note is of sad
news. This Sunday My Old partner, friend and family member had to
be put down. Gandor suffered a stroke over the weekend and lost
a lot of his ability to keep his balance, walk or even eat. We decided
that we would not prolong his suffering and as a family we took
him in late Sunday night. Myself, Sue, Kate and Kevin got to say
our good-byes. Everyone who knew Gandor, loved him and we will miss
him. I brought him in a tennis ball before the vet came in. Typical
Gandor chomped on that tennis ball and wouldn't give it up. To those
who worked with him and trained with me, you all know he was a great
drug dog and loved the tennis ball! From the time I got Gandor from
Ken and Sheri Licklider, back in November of 1994, he was a part
of our family. He won "Top Dog" honors in 1995, helped
me win Officer of the Year in 1997 with Hallandale Beach Police
Department, Florida and continued well after that finding dope,
seizing cars and cash in the millions throughout his career. He
had roughly 75 patrol apprehension on top of the drug work. Kids
loved him at Demonstrations too! I'm proud of his accomplishments
and there will never be another one like him. Anyone who has ever
lost there K9 partner or a close family pet, knows what I'm talking
about. He will be missed!
